Split system air conditioner installation

A split system air conditioner is the most common type of aircon installed in Brisbane homes – one outdoor unit, one indoor head, refrigerant piping between them. We install single-head, multi-head (one outdoor unit running 2-5 indoor heads), and high-wall, floor, ducted-look or cassette indoor styles.

Typical Brisbane single-head split system installation:

1. Site assessment – room size in square metres, ceiling height, sun aspect, insulation. Determines unit kW capacity.
2. Quote – fixed price, no callout fee.
3. Booking – usually within 1-2 weeks in summer, faster off-peak.
4. Install day – one team does the wiring, the bracket mount, the refrigerant piping, the commissioning, the wall reinstatement. 3-5 hours for a standard install.
5. Compliance certificates and ARC paperwork supplied with invoice.

Pricing from $1,814.51 supplied and installed for a Haier 2.5 kW single head, back-to-back on a single storey home, including GST. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries from $2,031.81 and Daikin from $2,140.40 for the same job. Multi-head systems are quoted after a site visit. Every job gets a fixed written quote.

Ducted air conditioning

We do not install or repair ducted air conditioning. We service and clean ducted systems for $599.50 including GST (filters, return air, coil clean, drain flush and zone check). For whole-home cooling we install two to four split systems instead: each room runs independently, running costs are lower and one failed unit does not take the whole house out. Air conditioning brands we install

We are authorised installers for the major Japanese and Australian aircon brands. Each has different strengths:

• Daikin – widely regarded as the most reliable split system brand in Australia. Premium pricing but long warranties (5 years parts and labour). Brisbane families pick Daikin for “set and forget”.
• Mitsubishi Heavy Industries – excellent value, quiet operation, the Bronte and Avanti Plus range is particularly popular.
• Mitsubishi Electric – the “Diamond Dealer” series is built to last and offers smart-home integration with most major platforms.
• Haier – the budget-friendly choice with surprisingly good performance.
• Panasonic – NanoeX technology for air purification is the differentiator. Good for allergy-prone households.

We do not push a single brand on customers. We quote based on what suits the room, the budget, and the homeowner’s priorities.

Aircon service, repair and deep cleaning

Beyond installation we handle aircon service and deep cleaning (annual maintenance, mould removal, refrigerant top-up) and repair (refrigerant leaks, fan motor replacement, PCB faults, sensor faults).

Brisbane’s humid summers grow mould in split systems quickly if they are not cleaned. A deep clean by an ARCtick-licensed team removes the mould properly without damaging the heat exchanger. Service intervals: every 12 months for residential, every 6 months for commercial.

Why book an ARCtick AND electrical licensed installer

This is the differentiator most aircon companies cannot match. By Australian law, any work that releases or recovers refrigerant must be done under an ARCtick licence (L181564 for us). Any work on the electrical supply side must be done under an electrical contractor licence (90552 for us).

Most aircon installers hold only the ARCtick licence and have to call an electrician for the dedicated circuit, the GPO, or the switchboard upgrade needed for a bigger unit. That is two trades, two bookings, two invoices, two warranties.

It also matters for what we ask while we are there. “While we are doing the aircon, can you put a fan in the bathroom and a powerpoint behind the TV?” Yes. That is the residential electrician side of our scope.
